When we say DNA, most people immediately think of the genetic code that determines eye color, hair color, or height. In reality, DNA carries much more complex layers of information that go beyond biology.

Family was the foundation of safety, certainty, and orientation – offering shelter, a name, social status, and the rules by which one was meant to live. To belong to a family meant to know where I stand, to whom I belong, and what is expected of me.
